Troncones, a hidden treasure in the Mexican Pacific Coast

It is incredible the diversity that can be found along the Mexican Pacific with its more than 7,800 km of coastline. Within this great diversity there are communities and towns that treasure a great wealth of traditions, gastronomy, customs and history. Such is the case of our town, Troncones; which is located just 30 minutes north of Ixtapa-Zihuatenjo in Guerrero state.

We invite you to discover in this note the places and attractions that have made Troncones an ideal destination to leave behind the bustle of the city and live quality time between waves and palm trees.

The Troncones Town enjoys to being a small town that has it all. A colorful main street connects you with all the options of coffe shops, bars, restaurants, stores and lodging options. You can go walking or cycling, in fact many visitors and locals prefer the bicycle thanks to the convenience and practicality. You can find several bike rentals on the main street or you can ask us and we could coordinate it for you.

On the avenue you can also find all the attractions that Troncones has to offer; art galleries, yoga classes, tours to the attractions of the area such as “the cave” or “hot springs” as well as salsa classes or horseback riding.

On the beach there are several restaurants with a very interesting gastronomic offer. Do not forget to try the traditional “tiritas de pescado”, a delicious dish that is served in different styles, you won’t regret it.

Troncones also have a good wave to surf, which is another of its main attractions. Only 5 minutes north you can find the first point in the “Manzanillo Bay”, a wave for middle and expert levels but also a beach for other less risky sports such as SUP (Surf Up Paddle) or Snorkel.

At Casa Manzanillo we offer Surf Tours to the best spots in the region. To the north there are incredible virgin beaches such as “La Boca”, “El Rancho” and “La Saladita”, the latter considered as one of the best places in the world for longboarding.

At night we recommend you going out to enjoy the coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Whether you decide to drink a cocktail while enjoying the sunset, good company and good music; or enjoy a delicious dinner in one of the restaurants in town. Be assured that each option you choose will make you have a great time.
