About Us

Casa Manzanillo was a dream of mine for years. I grew up in San Diego and came to Mexico City in the 1990s. As an avid surfer, I yearned for ocean life and refuge from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. After traveling to a number of beach towns on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts throughout Mexico, I found that Manzanillo Bay had a special draw that other places could not match. When I came here years ago I realized I had found my home away from home.

Casa Manzanillo served as a personal home for my family for a number of years, but is now open to share with the world. I built Casa Manzanillo to be a relaxed, communal experience that allows individuals to reflect on their lives, their unique essence and the balance between humanity and nature.

Casa Manzanillo staff is as important as the house and surrounding environment. Adrian, a long time friend, is the manager and his family will take you in as one of their own. Adrian has grown up in Troncones. He is a master fisherman and surfer who knows all the hot spots. He is patient and always has a smile.

Jasmine and Margarita are also natives of Troncones. Jasmine learned traditional Mexican recipes from her mother and sets a beautiful spread. Her friendly, respectful nature shines through in the food she prepares. Margarita is the cleaning staff, she is eager to do the best job for you and to facilitate your stay in any way.

We are also joined by two cats and a dog (Tica) that come as part and parcel of Casa Manzanillo.
